In this role

Lead the teaching and coordination of the second-year English subject, ‘Gothic Literature and Its Children’. You will support and strengthen curriculum delivery and development across the English major and contribute to the robust and ambitious research culture of the English discipline. With the possibility of supervising Honours students and co-supervising postgraduate research students, you will also contribute to discipline and Department administration.

The candidate

To succeed, you will possess:

  • A PhD in Literary Studies
  • Evidence of high quality and/or high impact research
  • Demonstrated competence in teaching at university level
  • Readiness to supervise or co-supervise postgraduate students
  • High-level oral and written communication skills in English
  • Evidence of the ability to work as a member of a team
  • Willingness to engage in multi-campus education
  • It is desirable you have a teaching and research background in eighteenth- or nineteenth-century Literary Studies or in Gothic Literature
